The 11 Day Power Play is a nonprofit organization that primarily benefits Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, with additional benefits going to the Make-A-Wish of Western New York and Camp Good Days organizations, both of which provide vital services to cancer patients and their families.
The Community Shift is a hockey marathon played by approximately 2,900 players; with games held at the Buffalo Harborcenter in 3-hour shifts around the clock for 11 days. The 2019 event raised more than $1,500,000 towards cancer research, wellness programs, and support services for patients and families in Western New York.
This year, CenterBridge Planning Group helped support one of the teams, Justen’s Cancer Killers. Danielle, who works in CenterBridge’s Buffalo office with advisors Andy Burr and Jeff McCabe, was in the crowd for the team’s game, which began at Midnight on July 11, 2019. Although the hour was late, witnessing the hockey marathon and the excitement of the participants and spectators first-hand was an experience for which Danielle was happy to lose some sleep.
